Haneda Airport has Terminal 3, where most international flights arrive and depart. In the summer of 2020, when the coronavirus pandemic began, a new international arrival and departure facility was built at the southern end of Terminal 2, which is used by All Nippon Airways domestic flights. Although it is far from the railway/monorail station, there is a parking lot for people with disabilities in front of the lobby entrance, making it easy to access by car. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the world has come to a standstill, and this facility has been temporarily closed.
In the spring of 2023, when the coronavirus pandemic subsided and domestic and international travelers began to return, the number of travelers taking international flights increased, and the closed Terminal 2 international flight facility resumed operations in July 2023. This international terminal has been used for some ANA international flights, and the number of flights will increase from the end of March 2024, so it is necessary to confirm in advance which flights will depart from Terminal 2.
Passengers departing on international flights from this terminal should proceed to the south end of the terminal building by following the directions on the Terminal 2 departure floor, which is the same as for domestic flights. Enter the terminal from the curbside, make a left turn, take the elevator to the third floor, and then go up a gentle slope to find a spacious check-in counter. If you are checking in using a wheelchair, etc., you can complete various paperworks and check-in at the special assistant desk located in front of the counter.
However, please be careful when picking up arriving guests. If you follow the directions for arriving at Terminal 2 from the Shuto Expressway/Wangan Road, you will arrive at the driveway on the 1st floor arrival floor. However, the arrival lobby for international flights is located on the 3rd floor as same as the domestic departure lobby. In other words, when picking up your guests by car, you must follow the departure instructions and head to the same end of the terminal where departing guests get off your vehicle, instead of following the arrival instructions. However, the travel distance from the arrival lobby to the parking area for people with disabilities is the shortest (about 50m), so it’s grateful to move easily even with large luggage.
Even so, the arrival exit of this international flight facility is surprisingly small, and is completely different from the departure lobby.
