Tokyo Garden Theater

On the 17th, the day after Typhoon No. 7 passed along the east coast of Kanto, we helped our guests in a one day outing from Kodaira City, Tokyo to a live concert held at Tokyo Garden Theater.

Tokyo Garden Theater is located in a corner of Ariake Garden in Koto Ward, which includes a hotel, shopping mall, spa, and more. (some of links on this page are requiring to translate fro Japanese to English or others by Google Translate.)

If you are going by train, take the Yurikamome or Rinkai line, and if you are going by bus, you can get there directly from Tokyo Station or Ginza to the Ariake 2-chome bus stop next to Ariake Garden. Of course, wheelchair users can also use these routes.

For example, from Yurikamome Ariake-Tennis-no-Mori Station, which is about 210 meters from Tokyo Garden Theater, you can exit the ticket gate, take the elevator down to ground level, walk along the sidewalk, cross the Ariake Coliseum East intersection, turn left and arrive at the Ariake 2-Chome bus stop. From there, there are a lot of stairs to the entrance to Tokyo Garden Theater on the second floor… But don’t worry, there is an elevator at the back on the right hand side as you face the stairs.

Those who want to go directly to Tokyo Garden Theater after arriving at Ariake Garden

Between the Bayshore Route and Ariake Garden, there is an entrance to the hotel/spa driveway, and you can get on and off here. Get off your car and take the elevator in the driveway hall, going up to the hotel entrance on the 2nd floor. Get off the elevator, exit the building while facing the hotel entrance in front of you, turn left, and proceed along the side of the building to arrive at Tokyo Garden Theater. The reverse route is also convenient on your way back. However, although this is the shortest route from the driveway to Tokyo Garden Theater, the driveway is not connected to the parking lot, so you will need to have someone drive you there.

If you arrive at Ariake Garden and would like to stop by the mall before heading to Tokyo Garden Theater

Parking lots are available in the basement of the mall and in the building next to the mall, so you can park there and walk through the mall to get to Tokyo Garden Theater. The underground parking lot also has wheelchair rental services and barrier-free restroom. The mall are connected on the 2nd, 3rd and 5th floors to the 3rd, 5th and RF floors of the park building, and Tokyo Garden Theater is connected to the mall on the 2nd floor. Once you arrive on the 2nd floor, head towards MUJI. If you want to fill your stomach first, there is a food court on the 5th floor.

Those using taxi services like Wilgo will arrive at the mall’s 1st floor driveway, where there are also taxi and Haneda Airport limousine bus stops and barrier-free restroom. Private vehicles cannot enter this driveway. When you get off, the entrance to AEON STYLE on the 1st floor of the mall is right in front of you, and you can take the elevator to each floor of the mall. However, this driveway does not have a boarding and disembarking area for people with disabilities, and there are a step between the road and the sidewalk in all areas. The only places without a step are where there are crosswalks. I think a little more consideration could be given.

Going to a concert, live show, event, etc. of your favorite artist is exciting, isn’t it? You want to enjoy the excitement around the venue and get your hands on some merchandise, so we recommend that you arrive in the vicinity of the venue with plenty of time. Also, after the show ends, many audiences head home at the same time, so the surrounding area becomes very crowded. In such a situation, being able to quickly get on and leave at the driveway where private vehicles cannot enter, may be a big advantage.
